James Rubinstein My Personal Website

IE 802 (Clemsonhfes.org)

For IE 802 (human computer interaction), I managed to talk Dr. Greenstein into letting us tackle the Clemson University Human Factors and Ergonomics Society's website.

Previously, we had been using a plain html site, which used frames. Navigation wasn't always visible, and it wasn't updated frequently.

You can see below what the old site looked like:
Old HFES website

After I was elected to the office of Webmaster for the Clemson HFES
chapter, I felt like we needed to do something good to really improve participation within the group. I felt that the IE 802 class would give me the perfect opportunity to do so.

I had a great team to help me accomplish the creation of a new site:
Matt Garbarino, Nathan Klein, and Shiva Subramaniam

Together we set goals and specifications, and made sure that we were creating exactly what we wanted.

I think the site turned out well. There is a forum, information about the group, resources, and easily updated pages. The idea is to create a place for the club to 'hang out' online, and keep up with the goings on of the club and it's members and even alumni.

The new Clemson HFES site can be viewed here
