pinpow!
I've put in a bit of work last week on pinpow!, which is a full-service web and graphic design company that my friend Ryan has been working on. Check it out.
A new usability tool
I just want to share this with people. It's a new usability tool to simulate eye tracking and also visual blur. It can be a great tool, especially for those of us who don't have eye trackers around the house. It's called the Stompernet Scrutinizer, and it was developed by my friend Andy Edmonds.
Here's a short video screencast of the scrutinizer.
So, go download it, and have fun!
Site Changes
I decided to make some changes to the site. I have now upgraded to the latest stable version of WordPress (2.3.1). I have also made some changes to the "Zen in Grey" theme, originally designed by Sajith M . I've now added the Clemson HFES site to the projects pages. Hopefully it has increased the usability of the site. I think it looks nicer, anyway.
Well it’s been a minute
Sorry for the lack of posting, but the end of the semester has been BUSY. I'm going to make a few posts to update you on what has been happening.
ACnet
My test Drupal install of ACnet is up.
It probably won't look like much to you, but then, it's not supposed to. It's an online intranet for Anderson County employees to communicate.
It's built on the open source cms Drupal, which is pretty good stuff. It's not as easy to use as I'd like, but.... it's pretty darn good.
I hope to be testing some users soon.
Coming soon will also be the test site for the Clemson HFES chapter as the current site is.... well it's a site
We’ve moved!
By we, I mean me ![]()
I've moved everything over to Clemsonlinux, because they offer more space, more flexibility, and better software.
Viva CLUG
Welcome
If you are seeing this, it's likely because I gave you (or someone in your company) a resume that had this website address.
I'd just like to welcome all of you.
Hopefully this site will tell you a bit more about me than I can squeeze onto a resume and cover letter.
So, take a look around, see if you can get to know me a little better, and if you have questions, don't hesitate to ask me: jrubins@clemson.edu
Server Crash
Well after doing lots of work on the website, the bark servers that hold my DB crashed.
So, I've had to repost a few things, which is why the dates are a little off.
I'll have it fixed soon.
At least I had a backup :whew:!
More blogging
Well, it's interesting, but it seems that Devin has also been offered a blog to blog about the arts in Anderson. I think this is a great opportunity for her to plug Arts Electric. And get out some of those opinions to new readers.
Her blog can be found here.
