Web Hosting
CLUG is now offering web hosting to Clemson students. For only $10 per semester, any Clemson student can get a username on our server such that their their address will be http://clemsonlinux.org/~username/. We keep our software up to date and our machine secured. When hosting at CLUG, you will have access to the following:
2 Gigs of Space
5 vhost entries
$10 a semester for members
$20 a semester for outside clubs (not in any way affiliated with members)
MySQL database access (Available upon request)
Any (non-harmful or non CPU monopolizing ) script execution
The quota will be strictly enforced, therefore any web content hosted will need to be moved to the user's home directory.
If you want to get hosting, you can buy a membership through our web store.
Becoming a member of CLUG is only $10 per semester and once you are a member, you can get much more than simple web hosting. See the joining page for more information.
Organizations can also get their web site hosted on our server, for $20 per semester. Please contact the CLUG president if your organization is interested. If you need any extra space, the space will be given in 1 gig increments for the following prices:
$5 a semester for CLUG members
$10 a semester for any clubs not affiliated with CLUG or its members
Notice: We monitor security closely and we must keep content legal, legitimate and reasonably tasteful, because our server is on Clemson's network serving from the school's Internet connection. Thus we reserve the right to inspect all content to make sure it's appropriate, and we reserve the right to disable any account who we find to be serving inappropriate material, insecure applications, or anything illegal or undesirable. This includes anything that reflects poorly upon the Clemson Linux User Group or Clemson University. We actively inspect all our accounts to ensure that we keep our content within suitable boundaries.
