Chat applet now available *update*
CLUG members frequently hang out to chat in the IRC channel #clemsonlinux on irc.freenode.net. We just made it a little easier for you to join us.
Registered users of this site can simply visit the IRC applet page and they will be logged in to the channel. Your clemsonlinux.org username will be used as your IRC nick, your full name will be used as your IRC name, and your slogan (set it in your profile) will be your quit message. Nifty, huh?
Now you can come join us for Linux help, fun with bots, and occasionally mad ramblings.
Update 2005/02/02: We have moved from irc.gimp.org #clug to irc.freenode.net #clemsonlinux. There are several reasons for this. The first reason is that we no longer have to use the TCP redirector to connect to IRC from on campus, since we can connect to freenode on port 7000, which is not blocked on the Clemson network as 6667 is. The other reason is that many other free software projects have channels on freenode, and many of us already are on freenode, so we no longer have to be on two servers at once.
The channel on irc.gimp.org will stay open with a topic sending people to the new channel. We will keep a bot there also for a little while, until the last of the humans get migrated over.
The easiest way to get on the new channel is to use the chat applet but of course, you must be registered to do that.
