At the moment my connection seems rather sporadic. I can't connect to IRC or use GAIM. I can access all on campus servers and most webpages. It seems like the only things having trouble are those that use persistant connections. According to DCIT we are in the midst of a serious virus outbreak and they haven't id'd the worm yet but the scanners are blocking the infected.
Does anyone know if killing persistant connections is a valid way to combat a worm infestation? |

Have you tried moving to somewhere where you'll get a different IP or get on another router? It seems that most on campus are not having big problems with IRC, but maybe your router is swamped with worm traffic or your IP has been blocked. Sounds like you better go have a chat with DCIT in the morning... _________________ chris

| Have desktop won't travel. If I could get another IP I would. Maybe DCIT needs a clue bat. |

I know how the non-traveling desktop thing goes...I bet DCIT has a clue bat, but they don't use it on the proper people. _________________ chris
