New Clemson community web site

A few CLUG members have been working on a new web site for the Clemson community called TigerZone. This site aims to be a quality portal where people can speak freely and not be flamed or harassed by other members. Besides well-moderated and managed forums, this site has many features that other similar sites lack. Below is the site opening announcement. Please check it out!

After over a month of development and testing, TigerZone is now ready for opening. The students of Clemson have came together to build a great new site for other students (past, present, or future) and enthusiasts. We aim to provide a place to exchange a great wealth of information about Clemson and other topics, in addition to social areas such as forums and a chat room.

In order to be as short and concise as possible, below are some details on the site in Question/Answer form.

What is TigerZone?
TZ is a general Clemson site that is aimed at being useful in the context of providing a means for socializing in addition to useful things such as Reviews section.

What kind of audience is TZ for?
TigerZone is aimed at being friendy to a wide audience of Clemson students, alumni, and enthusiasts. Flaming and bashing of others will be kept to a minimum (outside of unmoderated forums) to ensure that everyone is able to express their thoughts and enjoy themselves without oppression.

Who is running this thing?
Various students from a wide variety of majors are current running, developing, and moderating TigerZone. The current staff is approaching about a dozen with more additions down the road.

How much does it cost?
TigerZone is and will always be free. We are not in this to make money and we will not deface our site with obnoxious pop-ups or banner ads, nor will we charge member for basic services that are standard throughout other sites on the internet. Donations are of course accepted for the betterment of the site, but they are (and will remain) completely voluntary. People should want to donate to things they enjoy rather than being forced to do so.

This site is doing great and now has moved to a new name/domain: planetClemson.com.
